What does the programme cover?

Are you interested in how children and young people learn? In the mental and emotional well-being of children and young people? Perhaps you already work, or would like to work, with children and young people and want to enhance your academic knowledge and professional practice.

Covering a different topic every week, this programme will take you through some of the areas of psychology for education that are taught on the undergraduate programme ‘BA Psychology for Education’ at Birkbeck, University of London.

Who can take part?

This free online 5 week programme delivered by Senior Lecturer, Ana da Cunha Lewin, from the Department of Psychological Sciences, is for those with an interest in psychology, education and children and young people, who would like to study the subject at university regardless of their previous education experience. It is open to anyone with no previous experience of university, and is designed for those who have had a break from education.

The course consists of 4 recorded webinars and 5 live online discussions which take place weekly so please ensure you are able to take part in the whole programme if you’re signing up as places are limited.

You do not need any particular qualifications or experience to take part, but a curious mind and an interest in psychology and how children learn would be an advantage!
